narrative writing

We had to write a short story about a journey.

It was a challenge because we had to fix a lot of stuff up.

 Firefighter death

Paragraph 1

I felt the hotness of the flames rushing everywhere and along my body. I was afraid. The roof started falling down. I ran for the door like I had never run before.  When I got close to the door the roof fell in front of it. he started communicating with his crew outside he yelled out “mayday mayday”!  on the radio. The other firefighters acted as quickly as they could.  They tried to get inside but it was too late. The roof had already collapsed so they tried to enter another way but they were all blocked. I yell out to them through the wall.  While he is doing that they smash open  one of the windows. The fire breathes and flames towards the window so the firefighters jump backwards.  They almost got burnt.  They communicated with him over the radio. I said “I'm cornered by the flames and tell my family I love them”.

“No you are not going to die today. I will not let that happen. We will find a way inside, we will at least try” said the captain.

“Okay but hurry this place looks like a dump in here” I say over the radio. I hope I don’t end up in the ground in a coffin.

If I do end up in a coffin, get those african guy’s to do the coffin dance for me  at my funeral .If I die here today doing my favorite thing, firefighting at least I might die doing the thing I love the most. The house continues to burn. The heat starts creeping into my gear.  I feel desperate.  I tried to make contact over the radio but it was dead as it had melted.  I was breathing heavily and felt like I was going to run out of breath.  I knew that I was going to run’ out of air from my breathing apparatus. I can't communicate with them anymore. I might as well die in this dark flaming house.

As soon as I said that the other firefighters broke through the wall and grabbed me. The only thing I can remember is that I was getting rushed into a van. I think it was the medical van. I felt woozy. I wanted to get up but my body said no. I thought I was gonna die in the burning house but when I awoke I found myself in a bed. I thought I was home but I was in a hospital bed. it felt like I was still in the burning house. My family came to see me. They were relieved that I wasn't dead.  I said hi but then I took my last breath and faded into the sky. They couldn’t get me back. That is why I'm writing this on a piece of cloud in heaven.

The end

catapult dlo

 paragraph 1

Our task was to build a catapult. The teacher gave us a variety of catapults to build. I made a storming the castle catapult. A catapult uses a lever to pull the throwing part of the catapult and then release it and then the piece of tinfoil goes flying away. The persons that went the furthest got a prize. When I was making the catapult I used 6 rubber bands and 7 popsicle sticks. I used two rubber bands to attach 5 of the popsicle sticks together.  The other two popsicle sticks I used for the leaver two put the spoon on and attached the spoon to the leaver but it was a little hard to attach the spoon to the leaver. After that I was finished however it took me a while to put it together. It was a lot of fun to make the catapults.

Paragraph 2

I didn't come first but it was still a lot of fun. If I had enough time I would have modified it. It would have gone further if I had put more rubber bands and made the catapult bigger and taller. I would have put more  popsicle sticks on it. It didn't fire far because I am not that good at building catapults but i almost got second i was just a little bit behind but it was fine we only got to have one small treat so i wasn't really excited.

forces and motion

on Wednesday we  had a forces and motion day the whole School was involved.
after we made a dlo about the three stations we went to.

i tried to make a Catapult it was hard but it was fun i was only able to make one because we only had a short time so i played the games that was set out for us i won a lot of the games that i played like four in a row.
